Fall 2009

Welcome to the Archery Club's preliminary web site! We will be redesiging this site over the next few weeks. We currently have a google group and all inquiries/list add requests should be sent to umd [-dot-] archery [att] gmail [-dot-] com . (To foul up the scrapers).

We will attempt to meet every Sunday at 2pm until 5ish at the STAMP STUDENT UNION LOBBY. This includes this coming Sunday, though it currently looks as if rain will be dominating the weekend. If the Sunday meeting is canceled for any reason, there will be a meeting that Monday, but for a slightly shorter time from 4-6:00ish pm. If for some reason there has been no weekday meeting on a given week, then there will be a meeting held on that SATURDAY by a club officer also at the student union lobby.

This week's schedule:

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH @ 4PM at the WEST BUILDING ENTRANCE.

This is different than the lobby, as I am unsure as to whether parking will be restrictive or not. Again, if you are able to provide transportation, show up 10 minutes early and we'll set you up with a waiver.

We will carpool from there to the ADELPHI MANOR ARCHERY RANGE (found here), which is 1 mile off campus on 193. You are welcome to meet us there during the meeting time, though you will need to provide your own transportation or walk.

We have an exciting semester ahead, and a lot of growth is expected. Max will be returning this week and we will resume efforts to revitalize the web site, push forward with renovating the archery range and schedule for early October a bow making workshop.

Thank you to those who have shown up sometime this semester and those who have been a part of the club in the past! We exist to foster and develop a community of like-interested individuals with equipment and experience that is hard to obtain elsewhere, and are happy with the amount of interest shown so far here at Maryland. Please join us again anytime and enjoy the fine sport of field archery using traditional and recurve bows.
